Join the National Council on Electricity Policy (NCEP) webinar introducing a framework to help state agencies collaboratively manage rapid electricity demand growth driven by large loads such as data centers and advanced manufacturing. It emphasizes three core themes—interagency coordination, shared data and analysis, and careful consideration of economic risks and benefits—as essential to effective decision-making. The framework outlines six practical approaches supporting these themes: early interagency coordination, shared economic development goals, information-sharing portals, state-level load forecasting, interconnection policies, and large load tariffs. Together, these approaches aim to improve transparency, align infrastructure planning with verified demand, and ensure that costs and benefits are distributed fairly among stakeholders. Ultimately, NCEP suggests a proactive, system-level strategy that enables states to capture economic opportunities while safeguarding reliability, affordability, and the public interest.
